Help Us Shine a Spotlight on Women’s Land Rights

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are launching the Her Land Her Story Campaign. For the next three weeks we will be partnering with Land Portal, BRAC, Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI), Habitat for Humanity’s Solid Ground Campaign, Landesa, Namati, NRMC, OpenStreetMap Zambia, Oxfam, Resource Equity, Rights and Resources Initiative, and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Thematic Network on Good Governance of Extractive and Land Resources (UNSDSN) to advocate for women’s land rights by spotlighting the stories of real women from around the world.

The Her Land Her Story Campaign is designed to raise awareness of women’s land rights and help people personally relate to the issue by featuring a real women’s land story each day.

How you can join and support the campaign.

Join the growing movement to support women’s land rights by reading and sharing our op-ed titled Strengthening Women’s Land Rights: The Neglected Lever Towards Increasing Ag Production.

We also encourage you to join the Her Land Her Story Webinar on Friday April 20th, 2018, from 9:30 – 11:00 am EDT / 2:30 – 4:00 pm GMT, which will be co-hosted by Cadasta, Land Portal, CCSI, and the UNSDSN. The webinar will highlight the critical links between securing women’s land rights and promoting sustainable development and will feature selected stories from the Her Land Her Story Campaign. Personal stories of efforts to secure and defend women’s land rights will be shared by women’s land rights advocates, and campaign partners will provide brief presentations about their work on this topic. Webinar presentations will be followed by a question and answer session with webinar participants.
