There are few communities which have been unaffected by the global COVID-19 pandemic and in early April, Cadasta reached out to partners around the globe offering support during this unprecedented global health emergency. Since then, Cadasta has been supporting partners in their realignment of core activities, shifting from land tenure-specific to emergency response actions. Cadasta is providing its technical assistance, geospatial platform, survey tools, and data visualization and analytics tools to help partners plan, manage, and track COVID-19 response efforts. From India to Colombia, Cadasta partners advocate for and with their communities, and unsurprisingly, partners have stepped-up during this time of extreme uncertainty, offering support to their beneficiaries, local communities, and state governments.
One such example is our partner PRADAN. A Cadasta partner since 2016, PRADAN works in remote villages and rural communities in seven states across India. Due to their years’ long presence and deep rooted community relationships, the organization is uniquely placed to support COVID-19 related interventions, including providing vital situational awareness to government agencies and meeting on-the-ground community needs. Cadasta is supporting PRADAN’s COVID response by building multiple surveys, web apps, and dashboards to monitor and evaluate food rationing and basic medical supply logistics, location of health centers, and displaced and returning migrants.
