Mapping a Decade of Change: Cadasta Launches Its New Digital Home

Dec 01 — 2025

For ten years, Cadasta and our partners have  been mapping what too often remains invisible: people, places, and the rights that form the foundation of thriving communities. From rural farmers in Southeast Asia to forest stewards in Central Africa, we’ve documented over 30 million hectares and helped more than 7+ million people from 7,000 communities across 50 countries make their claims visible, unlocking the benefits that come with secure rights and resources.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we’re thrilled to unveil our newly redesigned website: cadasta.org. More than just a refreshed look, it’s a reflection of how far we’ve come and how we’re charting the path ahead.

This new digital home captures a decade of impact, collaboration, and innovation. It brings to life the many ways our partners and funders have helped communities around the world strengthen tenure security, adapt to a changing climate, and build resilience for the future.

A Living Map of Our Impact

Every story of land and resource rights begins with understanding of people, boundaries, and the data that connects them. Our new website embodies that principle, blending storytelling, technology, and design to map our shared progress.

Explore the Interactive Dashboard and Global Project Maps
See our work unfold across regions through an immersive Impact Dashboard and interactive project maps. They trace the reach of Cadasta’s partners from the Amazon Basin to East Africa, visualizing where implementing partners are working with communities to secure their land and resource rights.

For funders and partners, this transparent, data-rich view offers a window into the scale of what your support makes possible, how investments in technology and training translate into measurable progress and lasting change.

Hear From the Voices that Shape the Map
Our Impact Stories and Testimonials bring forward the people and partners behind the data. From women gaining legal recognition for their farms to youth-led mapping initiatives documenting indigenous territories, each story is a testament to what happens when information and empowerment intersect.

These stories not only showcase our collective achievements but also reveal the local leadership and innovation driving this movement forward.

Navigate a Storytelling-Driven Design
The new site was designed with the same intention we bring to every project: clarity, collaboration, and connection. With intuitive navigation and people-centered design, visitors can easily explore our programs, data tools, and resources or take the next step to Partner With Us or Support Our Work.

“As we launch this new website and celebrate ten years of working side-by-side with partners and communities, I am deeply grateful to every funder, every implementing organization, and every local leader who has joined us on this journey,” said Amy Coughenour Betancourt, President & CEO, Cadasta Foundation, reflecting on Cadasta’s decade of impact. “Our refreshed digital home captures where we have been, and more importantly, where we are going. Together, we will continue to unlock opportunities through secure land and resource rights for communities around the world.”

Charting the Next Chapter

The new cadasta.org isn’t just a website—it’s a map of what is possible with access to the right tools, training, and data management. It traces the relationships, data, and stories that have shaped a decade of progress and points us toward the next horizon.

For our funders, it’s an invitation to see the tangible impact your support has made and to envision what’s next. For our partners, it’s a space to share knowledge, explore new collaborations, and continue building systems that put people and rights at the center.

As we chart the decade ahead, our mission remains clear: to unlock the social, economic, and environmental benefits of equitable land tenure around the world. Together, we’ll continue mapping change—one story, one partnership, and one community at a time.
