About 

Esaie is a Program Specialist for Rwanda at Cadasta, where he provides technical support and capacity building and oversees data collection, processing, and updating to enhance land administration services for community resilience. He is a geospatial data scientist, computer scientist, and land administration specialist with over 7 years of experience in GIS development, remote sensing, machine learning, and their applications. Prior to joining Cadasta, Esaie contributed as a machine learning for earth observation consultant, designing curricula and delivering training for aspiring data scientists. As an Assistant Lecturer, he taught modules on GIS, remote sensing, surveying, land reform, and SDI while mentoring students on their research projects. He was a Technology Fellow with the World Resources Institute under the Global Forest Watch program delivering innovative digital solutions in forest monitoring using near real-time remote sensing technologies. He holds a Master’s in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation (with a specialization in Land Administration) from ITC, University of Twente, the Netherlands, and he is completing his research towards a PhD in Computer Science through a partnership between the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Washington University in Saint Louis and University of Rwanda.
