Ede had a long career at the World Bank, where he was part of the senior leadership responsible for the sustainable development, infrastructure, and climate change portfolios. He has worked in more than 90 developing and emerging economies in all regions of the world – from fragile and conflict-affected countries to high-middle-income countries. Ede was responsible for about $80B of investments in and close to 800 policy reports during his World Bank career. He oversaw the global portfolio for land administration and property rights, as well as the Indigenous Peoples agenda at the World Bank. He is currently a senior non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution, member of boards of directors, and senior advisor to several international organizations. Ede has a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has been a lecturer at the Environmental Science and Policy Program in Johns Hopkins University, and at the Public Policy Program in Tsinghua University in Beijing.
