Donate Today and Help Secure Land Rights for All

Dec 31 — 2024

As this year draws to a close, we invite you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the over 1 billion people living in climate hotspots who still do not have rights over the land they depend on. Your generous donation can help offer the technical tools and training to map their land, securing pathways toward legal land rights, poverty reduction, increased livelihoods, gender equality, and climate action.

The Benefits of Your Donation

By contributing to Cadasta, you help us:

Secure Land Rights: Support Indigenous, Afro-descendant Peoples, local communities, and women gain legal recognition of their land, improving their livelihoods, resilience to climate change, and enabling women to exercise agency and economic power.

Promote Sustainability: Support environmental stewardship through secure land tenure, enabling better resource management such as food security and climate conservation.

Advance Social Justice: Ensure Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities, and Afro-Descendant Peoples have a voice in decisions affecting their land and resources.

Why Land Rights Matter

Secure land rights are a catalyst for economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity. Studies show that Indigenous Peoples and local communities steward over a quarter of the world’s land, yet they have legal rights to only 11% of it (World Bank, 2023). This disparity hinders sustainable livelihoods and limits their ability to protect critical ecosystems. Supporting communities with secure land rights increases incomes, improves resilience to climate change, and ensures a foundation for long-term development and environmental stewardship.

Cadasta’s Mission

Cadasta is a leading global social sector organization dedicated to providing land technology, training, and technical services to communities and governments. Our tools support local communities and Indigenous populations to affordably and easily document, map, and secure inclusive land and resource rights at scale. By creating accessible digital records, we enable data-driven decisions that improve resource governance and enhance climate resilience.

To date, Cadasta has documented the rights of over 7.1 million people on 30+ million hectares across 52 countries, focusing on enhancing tenure security and fostering climate resilience. Our partnerships have supported Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, and local communities, ensuring their land rights are recognized and protected.
