Cadasta Foundation Appoints International NGO Expert Tosca Bruno-van Vijfeijken to its Board of Directors

Cadasta Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Tosca Bruno-van Vijfeijken as a new Director of the Board.

Tosca comes to Cadasta board with 30 years of experience working on international development and civil society issues, in practice, in academia, and as an independent consultant. As Principal Consultant at Five Oaks Consulting, Tosca offers value to senior leaders in INGOs in the areas of change management, leadership development and coaching and organizational culture, among other organizational development related issues.

Before launching her consulting practice, Tosca was the Director of the Transnational NGO Initiative at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University where she focused on the governance, leadership, and effectiveness of INGOs. She directed the TNGO Leadership Institute which offered senior leadership training to hundreds of NGO leaders, including large global INGOs such as ActionAid, Amnesty, Greenpeace, Oxfam and CIVICUS as well as global South-founded NGOs and smaller size organizations. Tosca has also led several assessments of the effectiveness with which major global INGOs have engaged in large scale organizational change processes and worked on evaluation. 

Tosca served until recently as a board member of InterAction, Public Interest Registry, and ProLiteracy.  Earlier, Tosca worked at the European Center for Development Policy Management in the Netherlands; in Cambodia for the UNTAC peacekeeping operation, UNDP-Cambodia as well as the US INGO PACT. Tosca joins nine elected Board members and one observer. Together they provide strategic and policy direction to Cadasta as it works to advance global land and resource rights to build stronger, more sustainable communities.
