Project with Cadasta

Badabon Sangho trained staff and youth volunteers to map land held by women in southern Bangladesh, documenting 400+ parcels and building a local rights database.
Founded by single women in 2015, Badabon Sangho is a women-led nonprofit advancing land rights and legal awareness for vulnerable and socially excluded women and girls. In partnership with Cadasta, Badabon trained staff and youth volunteers to use digital mapping tools to document women’s land ownership in Rampal and Mongla. Together, they created a local database of over 400 women landowners and trained participants on legal rights and titling processes. By combining mapping with legal education, the project supports women in protecting their property from encroachment, strengthening claims, and improving livelihoods. This initiative demonstrates how grassroots women’s organizations can leverage technology to advance gender equity and tenure security.
