Cadasta Welcomes Three Summer Interns

We are thrilled to welcome three new summer interns to the Cadasta team: Shreya Choudhury, Anna Freestone, and Patrick Lovelace.

Shreya Choudhury joins us from India where she is studying Geography at Delhi University. While at Cadasta, Shreya will be working with the Communications and Programs teams by drafting blogs, preparing tweets, organizing the Cadasta photo archive, and utilizing her GIS skills by creating Story Maps. Outside of her studies, Shreya enjoys practicing Odishi (Classical Dance). While in Washington, D.C., Shreya looks forward to learning more about the heritage and culture of this city by exploring its various events and cuisines. When not in the office, she enjoys reading, dancing, cooking, travelling to new places, and interacting with people.

Anna Freestone joins us from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she is studying Public and Nonprofit Administration. Anna is originally from Holland, Michigan where she works as a barista at a local coffee shop. During her summer with Cadasta, Anna will be working with Global Program Director Tony Piaskowy on Cadasta’s forthcoming grant program. Upon graduation, Anna hopes to work in an organization that works to serve refugees. Outside of her internship, Anna will be spending her free time this summer exploring Washington, D.C. as much as possible!

Patrick Lovelace is a returning intern who worked with Cadasta last summer. A native of the DC area (Oakton, VA, to be exact), Patrick lived in the DC area his whole life until heading north to the University of Michigan for college, where he is planning to double-major in Political Science and Spanish with a minor in music. During his time with Cadasta, Patrick will be working with the Programs and Communications teams helping with research, creating online maps, assisting in the revamp of Cadasta’s CRM platform, writing partnership MOUs and partner pages, copy-editing, and representing Cadasta through attending forums and conferences in the nonprofit and land tenure sectors. Outside of his work and studies, Patrick enjoys singing in the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club, as well as cheering on DC sports teams and his Wolverines.

We are pleased to welcome Shreya, Anna, and Patrick to the Cadasta family. With their ideas and energy, Cadasta is poised to have a productive summer advancing our work to put vulnerable communities on the map.
