What inspired you to join Cadasta, and how do you see your role contributing to the organization’s mission?
I’m truly inspired by the profound impact this work has on the lives of so many people around the world. Secure land rights aren’t just about ownership; they’re about unlocking potential—enabling people to invest in their land, lifting families out of poverty, and fostering economic growth in communities that need it most. I see my role as providing an inside look into this transformative work and aligning our messaging with our mission. I’m excited to contribute to this work that is not only transformative, but also deeply meaningful, helping to create a world where everyone has a secure place to call home.
If you had to sum up your vision for Cadasta’s communications future in three words, what would they be?
Transformative. Empowering. Impactful.
What skills or experience are you most eager to contribute to the Cadasta team?
I look forward to working with the team and sharing my decades of experience in structuring and crafting effective communication strategies, telling compelling stories and translating the data into a narrative that is engaging. I look forward to lifting up our team and highlighting their expertise, creativity and dedication to this work.
When you are not championing land and resource rights, what do you like to do with your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and two teenage daughters going on road trips, camping and finding other adventures. I get a kick out of all things “tech” related and enjoy tinkering with new technologies. I also enjoy getting out in nature and spending time in the silence (we don’t get enough of that these days). I also love to play golf, but unfortunately it doesn’t love me back.
We are thrilled to have John on board and look forward to the positive impact his leadership and expertise will bring to Cadasta’s communications.
